Beware of the Information You Give Out

As COVID-19 vaccination enters the picture, there have been cases of conmen to scam with the vaccination, the latest case being through SMS (short message service).

Types of Scams
  • A text message that provides a link for an early vaccination
  • A text message that requests for early vaccination payment

  • In such scams, the victim will usually be asked to provide their personal information, which includes financial details, and this results in the victim’s data being compromised.

With these being said, we should keep a lookout and be able to identify such scams before we become victims, including our loved ones around us.

  • There would be no payment request from MOH for the vaccination.
  • For booking of vaccination slots, there would be unique links given. Each individual will have their own unique link, and it is advised not to share the link with others.

  • To keep your computer free of malware and phishing emails, look for the right antivirus software to protect your data as well.
